Sedalia hosts the Missouri State Fair in the Pioneer Trails Region every year in August. Three of the four PTRPC counties lie within the Freedom's Frontier Tourism Region. The northern two counties also lie within the Old Trails Tourism Region and share connections statewide with Santa Fe Trail and Lewis and Clark Trail destinations.
The Katy Trail draws bicyclists and hikers through the Pioneer Trails Region and connects them to the Amtrak station in Sedalia. The Highway 13 Corridor Coalition brings tourists into the two western counties for Butterfly Trail, the Amtrak station in Warrensburg and other attractions. Visitors to the Pioneer Trails Region can tour a dairy operation or enjoy ag-related tourism at orchard roadside stands, wineries and farm-to-fork restaurants throughout the four counties.
