Missouri's national award winning Statewide Homeland Security Regionalization Framework elevates the importance of regional priorities in the State's homeland security planning and funding. Pioneer Trails Regional Planning Commission is the "Lead RPC" for Region A (non-urban) encompassing eight counties and a variety of local jurisdictions. By providing administrative support service to the Regional Homeland Security Oversight Committee (RHSOC), the PTRPC assist the committee in identifying regional needs and priorities and prepares the application for the Regional Homeland Security Grant. Subsequently PTRPC services as the fiscal agent and administrator for the HS Grant coordinating the acquisition of equipment to better prepare the region in public safety and response. Major purchases such as the Salvation Army's Mobile Canteen Unit, Communication Equipment to enhance interoperability between agencies and Mass Care Trailers to provide assistance in case of human and animal disaster is ready to serve the families of the region in case of disaster
